Governing Ourselves informs members of legal and regulatory matters affecting the profession. This section provides updates on licensing and qualification requirements, notification of Council resolutions and reports from various Council committees, including reports on accreditation and discipline matters.
The College is committed to transparency and accountability. That is why we have extended the ways in which you can access all disciplinary decisions involving members of the College. Decisions are now available on the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII), a searchable database operated by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.
Free, bilingual and easily searchable, this database (oct-oeeo.ca/a52dzs) was created to make it faster and easier for the public, the media and legal professionals to access documents such as disciplinary decisions and high-quality legal commentary on Canadian court decisions. College Council approved this new initiative at its September 29–30, 2016, meeting.
