Stories from practice

You are invited to write stories (one or two paragraphs) of events, relationships or classroom situations that relate to a part of the standards of practice: Commitment to Students and Student Learning, Professional Knowledge, Teaching Practice, Leadership and Community or Ongoing Professional Growth.

Forward your story by July 31, 2005 to Déirdre Smith, Manager, Standards of Practice and Education via pad@oct.ca.

Standards focus groups

Ethical standards focus groups facilitated by members occurred throughout the province during the spring of 2005.

Peter Brodribb and Kevin Gilmore facilitated a focus group in Ottawa on April 8th.

Joseph w. Atkinson scholarship for excellence in teacher education

Teacher education candidates accepted into Ontario consecutive programs or concurrent candidates proceeding to their final year are eligible to apply.

Application deadline July 15, 2005

The 2005 award will be made to a student in the teacher education class of 2005-06 and will be announced on the College web site in fall 2005 and in the December edition of Professionally Speaking.
