The College wins Award of Excellence

(Award Certificate)The College has received an Award of Excellence for the 2006 edition of its Member's Handbook from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE).

The award honours the exemplary accomplishments in education-related communications or media – recognizing projects that demonstrate excellence in research, planning, execution and evaluation.

The handbook was judged by a panel of public relations and communications practitioners from outside the field of education.

Through this colourful publication, the College introduces new members to the world of teaching professionals. Among other things, the Member's Handbook strives to reflect professional pride with pictures of teachers in action and with messages that elicit curiosity and reinforce a commitment to making a difference in the lives of students.

This is one of over 45 College publications available that provide valuable information for teachers.

The theme for the 2006 Member's Handbook is leadership and learning communities – paying tribute to teachers who are involved in learning communities throughout Ontario today.

Photographs tell the stories of six teachers who are actively involved in learning communities, developing new educational activities, discussing new course ideas and providing one another with both technical and emotional support. Short profiles describe what each of them does.

CACE is a national association of professionals committed to encouraging and enhancing excellence in communications in education. It establishes and maintains standards and promotes a code of ethics to contribute to improved communication policies and practices in education.
