Appointment 
         New public appointee named to council
        Dobi-Dawn Frenette discovered her passion for education while completing her
          BA and MA at Laurentian University. She has worked with First Nations organizations
          focusing on second-level education-service delivery and political advocacy
          of First Nation education issues. 
        Through her past work and volunteer experience, she has developed relationships
          with numerous school, school board, Ministry of Education and other provincial
          and federal education organizations. Frenette participates in many First Nation,
          provincial, federal, regional and national education-focused committees and
          working groups. 
        Frenette is a band member of Couchiching First Nation in Grand Council Treaty
          #3 territory near Fort Frances and is employed as the education co-ordinator/advisor
          for Nishnawbe Aski Nation. She was appointed by the provincial government on
          December 19, 2008 for a three-year term.  |
