Hélène
Favreau was ecstatic when she heard that she had won a round trip for
two to Paris with five nights' accommodation, courtesy of Explorica. "I
am so happy.
This will be my first trip to Europe!"
A second-grade teacher at Centre Jules-Léger in Ottawa, Favreau
plans to marry in two years, so "Paris will be our honeymoon before
the wedding."
Julie Sparling of Cobourg won a roundtrip for two to Vancouver with five
nights' accommodation. Sparling, who teaches at St. Joseph Elementary
School in Bowmanville, was thrilled. "This is wonderful. I never
win. It's so exciting."
Gabriella Leone-Ferritto of King City won a home office including a laptop
computer, color printer, desk and chair, courtesy of Staples/ Business
Depot. Leone-Ferritto, a special education teacher at St. Wilfrid Separate
School, could not believe her luck.
"I've never won something big. Usually, I win something like boxes
of pasta. My three sons are going to be thrilled.
They've been after us all year to get a new computer -
ours is kind of slow. The timing is perfect."
All members of the Ontario College of Teachers who had set up their personal
account profile in the members area of the College web site at www.oct.ca
by midnight June 30, 2003 were eligible for the big draw. On July 2nd
names were randomly selected from those registered.
Finally, Jennifer Lynn Ferguson - who won in an earlier draw, announced
in the March edition of the magazine - set off to London this July courtesy
of Explorica. "I've never been out of Ontario before, so it will
be a new experience. I am really looking forward to it," she said
before leaving.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all 43,611 participants!
