Teachers
Holding Permanent Letters of Standing Urged to Join the College IF you know of a colleague who holds a Permanent Letter of Standing issued by the Ministry of Education and does not appear on the College registry, please let them-and the College-know. Under Regulation 184/97, Teachers' Qualifications, the Permanent Letter of Standing was renamed Certificate of Qualification (Restricted) when the College was formed in 1996 and teacher records were transferred from the Ministry of Education database to the College. However, some records were never logged on the ministry database and did not make it into the College system. Affected teachers should fill out an Application to Renew Certificate for Previously Certified Teachers and bring or send a completed copy to the College at 121 Bloor Street East, 6th Floor, Toronto, ON M4W 3M5. A photocopy of the Permanent Letter of Standing and a total of $219-an $80 reinstatement fee plus $139 for the 2003 annual membership fee-must accompany the application. The form is also available on the College web site at www.oct.ca > Membership Services > All College Forms or you can call Client Services at 416-961-8800 or toll-free in Ontario at 1-888-534-2222. |
