Adam Appointed Chair of the Discipline Committee
ELECTED Council member Bernard Adam is the new Chair of the Discipline Committee. An experienced educator and Discipline Committee member, Adam was appointed to the position following the departure of Mark Lefebvre from Council last summer.
"The responsibilities of the Discipline Committee are crucial to the College and the profession and rest on principles of equity, fairness and openness," said Adam. "My experience as a teacher and as a member of the Discipline Committee will ensure that we continue to build on the excellent work of my predecessor Mark Lefebvre and the whole Committee."
Adam has taught French, English, Spanish, Commerce, Religion and Music at the secondary level in Sudbury, Mississauga, Ottawa and at a Canadian Forces base in Germany.
The Discipline Committee of the College holds public hearings into allegations of professional misconduct or incompetence against members. The Committee is made up of a minimum of 11 members, including four public appointees.
