Guidelines for reviewers

Reviews are done on a purely voluntary basis. However, the book, CD, CD-ROM, video (materials) being reviewed becomes the property of the reviewer.

Lists of available materials are circulated several times a year and items are then sent to reviewers on a first come, first served basis. If a reviewer is interested in a particular item that is not included on the list, they can contact Rosemary Kennedy, Reviews Editor, with publishing/production details and she will attempt to get a review copy.

Timelines for return of reviews are given when the material is mailed out, but are quite flexible. The average time to return a review is between three and six months.

Reviews should be about 350 words long, and a mini review of 75 words should also be supplied. A short information line about the reviewer should be included, giving name, school, and grade taught. We reserve the right to edit for style and length.

All reviews are subject to approval by the Editorial Board whose decision on what is published in the magazine is final.
