New Chair for Professional Learning Committee

McDermid is the new chair of the Colleges Professional Learning Committee.
At the June 18 meeting, committee members elected McDermid as chair while Bernard Adam was elected vice-chair. The Professional Learning Committee approves courses and course providers for the Professional Learning Program. McDermid, who was vice-chair of the committee, replaces Jerry De Quetteville who resigned from the committee but remains on Council with other committee responsibilities. McDermid worked for many years in the public school system as a teacherlibrarian specialist, physical education specialist and Language Arts, French, Mathematics and Science teacher. She currently owns a computer service company. Audrey Hadfield joins the committee to replace De Quetteville. She is executive director and founder of MacLachlan College in Oakville, an independent, co-educational JK to OAC school. She possesses a broad background in all elements of curriculum and is secretary of the executive committee of the umbrella organization, the Independent School Associations of Ontario. |
