Your feedback

Tell us what you think about guidelines for the new Kindergarten AQ course

You have insights and experience that can help your College – and we’re only a few keystrokes away.

The new Schedule D three-session Kindergarten AQ course will be included in the Teachers’ Qualifications Regulation starting March 31, and we’d like to know what you think.

A draft version of the new Additional Qualification course guideline is now posted on the College web site. To give us your feedback, visit our web site in March to download the feedback form and e-mail it as directed, or print it out and send it by post. Your contributions will help ensure that the guideline reflects the professional knowledge and skills necessary for those obtaining a specialist Kindergarten qualification.

This new course will replace the current one-session Kindergarten qualification. You’ve told us how important the new AQ is, and we know that demand is high. We hope providers will begin to offer the new qualification in the summer.

Teachers wishing to take the new AQ will need a Primary division qualification. If you hold the current one-session (Schedule C) Kindergarten qualification, you can enter part two of the new three-part AQ.

The new AQ is part of changes and additions to the Teachers’ Qualifications Regulation and the Accreditation Regulation and flows from the findings of the College’s 2006 study, Preparing Teachers for Tomorrow. So far the College has developed and revised more than 150 courses on a wide range of subjects. We look forward to hearing from you as our work in this important area continues.
