INVESTIGATIONS AND HEARINGS

Manager, Intake and Hearings

greg-couttsGreg Coutts joined the College on July 3 as Manager of the Intake and Hearings Unit in the Investigations and Hearings Department. The unit deals with complaints from College members and the public.

“I am confident that Greg's extensive leadership experience and interpersonal skills will enable him to lead the unit, which is the first point of contact for people who want to raise a complaint about a member of the College,” said Registrar Brian McGowan.

Coutts was principal of the Independent Learning Centre at TV Ontario, which provides distance education to thousands of Ontarians each year. He took up this role following several years as Education Officer at the Ministry of Education. In this position, he was responsible for the inspection of private schools, elementary education, Special Education, and educational programs in care, treatment, custody and correctional facilities.

Prior to his career with the Ministry of Education, he was a teacher, vice-principal and principal with the York Catholic DSB. He taught principal's courses at York University and participated in principal exchange programs that involved visiting schools in England, Holland, Israel and India to study school governance and national curricula.

He has been involved in numerous committees promoting multiculturalism, international peace and understanding among people.

He holds an MEd from Brock University, has done doctoral studies at OISE/UT and has Supervisory Officer qualifications.
