Council AppointmentNew Councillor named![]() MADHU BHARDWAJ WAS APPOINTED on April 23, 2008 by the provincial government to serve on the Ontario College of Teachers’ Council. Bhardwaj is a registered psychologist and has worked over the last two decades with a wide variety of clients, ranging from individuals with hydrocephalus to parents of Siamese twins to victims of domestic violence and accident trauma. She is currently a family counsellor with the Family Service Association of Toronto and also maintains a private practice in the city, where she works with children and adults from many different cultural groups. The author of 20 publications, Bhardwaj holds a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma in medical and social psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, as well as MA and BSc degrees. Born in India, she immigrated to Canada in 1997 after a lengthy career as a senior research fellow and clinical psychologist at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Bhardwaj is fluent in five languages – English, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and Sindhi. She is a registered clinical psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (registration number 3746). |
