2009 Election Calendar
Preparations for the election of the fifth Council to be held in early 2009
are already underway. In his column (page 10), Registrar Brian McGowan provides
some insight into the issues that the Election Committee must address before
election preparations begin.
The December issue of Professionally Speaking will feature the election call
and information on how to nominate someone or stand for election yourself.
You will get advance information at every step if you sign up for our electronic
newsletter through the Members’ Area of the College web site.
In the meantime, here’s a rundown on how the election will unfold until
the names of 23 new councillors are announced on April 16, 2009.
December 2008
- notice of election and call for nominations published in December 2008
edition of Professionally Speaking and available on the College web site
- nomination forms available on the College web site, via school boards or
from the College
Monday, January 12, 2009
- deadline for submission of nomination forms and candidate biographical
information
Monday, March 9
- beginning of e-voting in the Members’ Area for eligible College members
- candidate biographies and voting information published in Professionally
Speaking
- candidate leaflets and voice messages available on the College web site
Tuesday, April 14
- last day for College members to cast their votes online in the Members’ Area
Thursday, April 16
- election results available on the College web site.
