Register to Win

Registering for the convenient new Members’ Area will make your life easier and could make your next holiday truly memorable.

Register for the new online Members’ Area before December 31, 2002 and the College will automatically enter you to win a trip for two to London, England provided by Explorica, a leading educational travel company.

Entering this contest couldn’t be easier—the moment you register for the new Members’ Area you will be eligible to win.

Registering to use the Members’ Area has other benefits as well. Just a few clicks of the mouse and members will be able to do just about everything they need to manage their membership with the College and track their professional learning progress. And they can do all this from anywhere, any time of the day or night.

Convenience is the driving theme behind the new online Members’ Area. Already members can use the site to change their address, sign up for email updates from the College, send messages to the College and access their public register information. Soon members will be able to use the site to track their professional learning progress, vote online for College Council, pay their annual membership fees and order duplicates of income tax receipts, and Statements of Professional Standing.

To register for the Members’ Area, visit the main Ontario College of Teachers site at www.oct.ca, choose the language of your choice and click the Members’ Area link at the top. That will open the page that allows you to register for the Members’ Area, if it’s your

first time. If you already have registered, simply enter your registration number and password to visit the new site. (See Membership Made Easy, page 36.)

The Members’ Area has been designed to be uncomplicated and simple to navigate. Every service available to members is listed on the Menu page, along with services that will be available in the future.

The site is also a very safe online environment. You can be sure that the College has taken every precaution to ensure your information remains private. (See College Takes Online Security Seriously, page 37.)

Above all the Members’ Area is a place where you can conveniently share information with the College in many different ways. The College will use this site to help you keep up to date on your Professional Learning Program progress, and you can let the College know new information about you, such as a new address. You can ask the College questions regarding just about anything College related, and the College will respond personally. You’ll also be able to use the Members’ Area to vote for your representative on College Council.

For those who want to be kept current on College and other professional issues, you can use the site to sign-up for periodic e-mail updates. (See College News the Way You Want It, page 37.)

So while you look forward to potentially win this trip, the College looks forward to using this site to serve you better.

Free Trip Draw

It’s simple.

Just set up your account in the Members’ Area by December 31, 2002 and your name is automatically entered for the draw for a trip for two to London, England from Explorica.

It costs nothing and it opens the door for faster, better, cheaper service for you from the College.

If you’re one of the thousands of College members who set up their accounts over the summer—before the draw was announced—your name has already been entered to win. The contest is open to all College members except members of the College Council or College staff.

Good luck!
