Sample Lesson Studies in Elementary Math
James Stigler and James Hiebert introduced Lesson Studies to North America after studying Japan’s teaching system and its method of embedded professional learning. In 1999 they published their findings in The Teaching Gap: Best Ideas from the World’s Teachers for Improving Education in the Classroom.

Dufferin-Peel Catholic DSB
The following three Lesson Studies took place in the Grade 4/5 classroom of Natasha Moore, OCT, at St. Josephine Bakhita Catholic Elementary School in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic DSB. The Lesson Studies were a collaboration involving Moore and five others who were then-pre-service teachers.
