HSBC Clean Air Achievers

A healthy environment and healthy students prove to be a win-win combination

HSBC's Clean Air Achievers program is now in its sixth year of operation, spreading a zest for healthy, active living through fun and informative activities. The educational initiative was created by a non-profit organization of retired national team athletes and environmental scientists who encourage students from Grades 5 to 9 to reverse unsustainable habits.

The Clean Air Champions volunteer their time to motivate students and provide practical tips as stewards of the environment. They introduce the program's components, including the online Trip Tracker, which lets students know how much pollution they are preventing by using more eco-friendly and physically rewarding modes of transportation. The learning tool provides tangible results, which brings the experience to a more personal level. Teachers can sign up their class for the free program and schedule two Clean Air Champions to make an impassioned presentation on the benefits of living cleaner and better.
