20-26 – Freedom to Read Week – This annual event encourages Canadians to re-affirm their freedom of speech, expression and intellectual thought, guaranteed under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

6 – International Children’s Day of Broadcasting – Broadcasters around the world air quality programming for, by and about children. This year’s theme is Girls Are … Boys Are …
4-20 – International Francophone Week – Celebrates the language and cultural diversity of francophones worldwide and runs 17 days.
21 – International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination – Calls attention to local and international racism and the need to promote racial harmony.
22 – World Water Day – Addresses water’s crucial role in climate-change policies. This year’s theme is Urban Water Management.
