Bridging the innovation gap
World’s largest student science competition now open
Ontario students again have an opportunity to develop their imaginations and technological know-how by entering the 20th annual ExploraVision contest, sponsored by the US National Science Teachers Association and Toshiba Corporation. They can also win prestige for their school and prizes as large as $10,000.
The contest is open to four-person teams of students of all grades, from K to 12. Winners are those who best imagine a future technology designed to solve a global problem that could exist in 20 years. Some 275,000 students in Canada and the United States have entered this science and technology competition, the world’s largest, since it began in 1992.
Entries must be submitted by February 2, 2011. Teachers can obtain more information, including lesson plans, by visiting www.exploravision.org.
